All seafarers that are employed or hired on a ship must be proficient in Elementary First Aid. This will enable them to skillfully handle aspects related to accidents or medical emergency and apply the basic principles of First Aid
Upon completion of the course the participant would be able to do the following:
a. Rescue, Transport & Positioning of Casualty
b. Applying Resuscitation Technique
c. Controlling Bleeding
d. Applying appropriate measures of basic shock management
e. Applying appropriate measures in the event of burns and scalds,including accidents caused by electric current
f. Improvising bandages and using materials in the emergency kit
