Course Details
Masters, Engine Chiefs, first deck officers, first engine officers and any other person directly responsible for loading, unloading of the cargo, care, handling of the cargo during the voyage, tank cleaning or any other operation regarding chemical tankers cargo must have a certificate of advanced training for cargo operations on chemical tankers, that will allow them to develop the skills and abilities to perform within their on board task and functions
Eligibility
To be eligible for the course, the participant must:-
1. Have a valid good health certificate.
2. Have a course certificate on basic training for oil and chemical tanker cargo operations issued by a Maritime Training Center authorized by the Panama Maritime Authority
3. Have completed the approved period of seagoing service of three (3) months as minimum on a chemical tanker, within the validity period of the certificate of basic training for oil and chemical tanker cargo operations. The period of seagoing service must be registered in the seaman book and/or the company letter(s).
Course Objectives
Upon completion of the course the candidate will :-
1. Possess the Ability to safely perform and monitor all cargo operations.
2. Have Familiarity with physical and chemical properties of chemical cargoes
3. Be equipped to take precautions to prevent hazards.
4. Be equipped to Apply occupational health and safety precautions & Respond to emergencies.
5. Take precautions to prevent pollution of the environment.
6. Monitor and control compliance with legislative requirements.
