Marine Environmental Awareness

Scope

The purpose of this training program is to provide participants the knowledge in preventing pollution in the marine environment and ensure compliance with the pollution prevention measures adopted for these purposes.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the course the candidate must:

1.       Possess a  valid health certificate stating good health

2.       Have the following certificates

a)      Elementary First Aid (EFA)

b)      Fire Prevention and Fire-Fighting (FPFF)

c)       Personal Survival Techniques(PST)

d)      Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (PSSR)

e)      Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties (STSDSD)

 

Course objectives

Upon completion of the course the participant would be able to acquire knowledge on the following:-

  1. Knowledge of the precautions to be taken to prevent pollution of the marine environment and anti-pollution procedures
  2. Knowledge of proactive measures to protect the marine environment
