Medical Care

Scope

Acquiring proficiency in Medical care course would enable the participant to effectively participate in coordinated medical assistance schemes on ships at sea to provide the sick or injured with a satisfactory level of medical care while on board, in order to minimize the risks of human loss. The course is taught using medical equipment in order to acquaint the participant with the proper use of the equipment to administer any kind of Medical Aid. 

Eligibility

To be eligible for the course the participant must present a certificate of competence as a deck officer or engine officer.

Specific Course Objective:

Upon completion of the course the participant would be able to:-

  1. Dispense medical care for a sick or injured people while on board.
  2. Participate in plans for the coordination of medical assistance to ships.
