Personal Safety And Social Responsibilities (PSSR)

Scope

All seafarers employed or hired on board a ship must know the basic principles of personal safety and social responsibility to their environment.  The course will equip the participants to understand the work environment, taking appropriate measures in situations of danger, pollution and emergencies, always ensuring the safety of the personnel and ship

Eligibility

To be eligible for the course the candidate must be in good health, justified by a medical certificate stating the same.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the course the participant would be able to acquire knowledge on the following:-

1.       Complying with emergency procedures  and  safe working practices

2.       Taking precautions to prevent pollution of the marine environment

3.       Contribute to effective communications and effective human relationships on board ship

4.       Understand and take necessary actions to control fatigue
