Why do a Advanced Training In Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations Course (ATCT)?

Scope

Masters, Engine Chiefs, first deck officers, first engine officers and any other person directly responsible for loading, unloading of the cargo, care, handling of the cargo during the voyage, tank cleaning or any other operation regarding chemical tankers cargo must have a certificate of advanced training for cargo operations on chemical tankers, that will allow them to develop the skills and abilities to perform within their on board task and functions.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the course the candidate must: –

1.       Possess a  valid health certificate stating good health

2.       Have a valid basic training for oil and chemical tanker cargo operations (BTOCT) certificate issued by a Maritime Training Centre (like SCMS) authorized by the Panama Maritime Authority

3.    Have completed the approved period of seagoing service of three (3) months as minimum on a chemical tanker

4.     Have the following basic certificates:-

  •       Elementary First Aid(EFA)
  •       Fire Prevention and Fire-Fighting (FPFF)
  •        Personal Survival Techniques(PST)
  •       Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (PSSR)
  •       Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties (STSDSD)
