Updating Course For Master And Chief Mate

Scope

This course is designed to meet the requirements of Rule II/2 Section A-II/2 Table A-II/2 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, as amended.

General objectives

The participant must ensure training, aptitude and ability required for certification under the requirements of the Regulation II/2 Section A-II/2 Table A-II/2 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers 1978, as amended.

Prerequisites

The level of theoretical knowledge, understanding and proficiency specified in the various sections of column 2 of table A-II/2 may vary depending on the degree held by the applicant is valid for ships of gross tonnage exceeding 3000 or for ships with a tonnage between 500 and 3000, as set out in Section A-II/2 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for seafarers, 1978, as amended.

Participants must have a Deck officer license or chief mate license and a letter of eligibility for promotion to higher grade, issued by the Panama Maritime Authority
